A Night for Venezuela: Eduardo Castillo Live at Palapa Miami

There are moments when a country needs everything at once. Venezuela is in one of those moments now. When the need is that large, each of us reaches for the thing we know how to give. Palapa gave a room under the trees. Engineers gave sound and light. Global Empowerment Mission gave the bridge, the trucks, the flights, the hands on the ground that turn a donation in Miami into food, water, and shelter in Venezuela within days.

Eduardo Castillo gives the thing he has given his whole life: music. Because music is how we remember we belong to each other. It gathers strangers into one body, one breath, one room. It dissolves the distance between a night in Upper Buena Vista and a family rebuilding on the other side of the Caribbean. For a few hours we listen together, and that listening becomes something real: aid that arrives, relief that lands, dignity restored.

Everyone involved in this night is donating what they do best. The venue, the sound, the lights, the music. All of it given. So that one hundred percent of what every ticket and donation helps goes straight to Global Empowerment Mission's work in Venezuela.

Eduardo Castillo is a Venezuelan-born musician and composer who helped pioneer Tulum's live music scene, co-founded the global hospitality brand Habitas, and has long championed music as a force for connection and change. Known for fully improvised performances that weave live vocals into organic electronic soundscapes, he brings a one-night-only journey to the Palapa — this time in service of his homeland, with the music supporting Venezuela's recovery.

Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is a Miami-based disaster-relief nonprofit founded by Michael Capponi in the wake of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, known for being among the first on the ground in crises across 78 countries. Following the twin earthquakes that devastated Caracas and Venezuela's coastal communities this June, GEM launched the largest humanitarian response in its history — committing up to $50 million in aid over six months alongside its longtime Venezuelan partner, I Love Venezuela.

From its distribution hub in Valencia, GEM is delivering food, water, medical supplies, and shelter materials directly to displaced families — and every ticket and donation helps that aid reach further.

Palapa offers an intimate series of immersive performance evenings. On this special night, we gather for Venezuela — an evening of connection, storytelling, and healing rhythms, set beneath the beloved open-air Palapa in the heart of Miami. A magical and secretive portal, resonant with the vibrations of the earth, where nature and celebration unite in hope and solidarity with a homeland in rebirth.
